Everyday throughout my 20s and into my 30s, I looked in the mirror and thought one thing: I can’t believe I still have zits. It was awful! Acne was for teenagers, or so I had always thought. And here I was—a bona fide adult—with pimples all around my chin and lower cheek area.

I had tried numerous approaches to clear it up, but nothing seemed to work. And when my husband and I decided to spend his sabbatical in Thailand, the acne flared up worse than ever before.

And then I started exploring ph360. None of the categories were specifically focused on skin or appearance, so I didn’t have much hope for it making a huge difference in that arena. Lucky for me, I was in for a big surprise.

As I started to integrate the changes in diet, fitness, and climate that ph360 suggested for me, my skin changed radically. I learned that a hot, humid climate like the one where we stayed in Thailand would be deeply aggravating to my system, not to mention all the delicious fried foods we had indulged in while there.

As I changed my diet, all of my pimples went away. I learned to sauté my foods in broth instead of oil, and to sweat out my body’s toxins through regular exercise and dry saunas. And our next vacation will be to a climate where the humidity is low.

These lifestyle shifts allowed helped me to balance the hormones in my body that had previously been all over the place, causing my skin to break out. The influx of antioxidants in my diet from green tea and all kinds of interesting berries that I’m eating are also helping to even out my complexion and skin tone. The red and brown splotches I had from sun damage seem to be fading!

Today, I feel lucky not to cringe every time I look in the mirror. For the first time in years, I feel comfortable not wearing makeup. I can’t wait to see how things improve as time goes on.
