Last year, as part of the Personal Health Summit, ph360 founder Matt Riemann sat down for an interview with the amazing Lynne Twist. They talked about health, and specifically about world health – what it means and what it’s all about.
With so many exciting things happening in the health field – the availability of smart tech like ph360 and ShaeTM for a start – it seems like a good time to go back and consider some of the very important things that Matt and Lynne discussed.
Lynne Twist is a recognised global visionary with over 40 years of experience working to alleviate poverty and hunger and support social justice and environmental sustainability. Her on-the-ground work has brought her a deep understanding of the social tapestry of the world and the historical landscape of the times we are living in.
During her discussion about ‘World Health Solutions’ with Matt, Lynne Twist beautifully explains the importance of global connectivity – our connection to our environment, to ourselves and to our collective. Everything in this world is connected and understanding this is integral to achieving world health. Each one of us has a symbiotic relationship with our environment. We share this planet with each other and with all the other living things on this earth. If we, as individuals, are to achieve health for ourselves, it is absolutely necessary that all the other living things around us can do so too. It serves nothing and no one to ignore the importance of our environment and everything in it.
Lynne also explains that the natural world can be like a tonic for us, eliminating stress and negativity. Have you ever felt a little bit down and after going for a walk in nature, suddenly felt better, lighter, more balanced? This is, in essence, this ‘tonic’ in practice. The natural world is so important for our overall health and wellbeing.
The essence of what Lynne talks about is that EVERYTHING we do makes a difference. Our actions, our life, our way of being impacts every living thing. You, as an individual have a far greater impact than you could ever know. If we could all keep this in mind, we can achieve great things together.
