7 tiny tips to loving personalized travel!
Traveling can often seem stressful, especially when there are certain things you know are not great for you but you can’t get around them – like airport food and elevated stress levels.
Here are a few tips that can make your travel time a holiday in itself!
1. Be prepared
Get yourself some snacks that you CAN eat. If this means stocking up at the grocery store the day before then so be it. Knowing that you won’t be going hungry can give some stress-reducing peace of mind for those who are particular about eating well.
2. Don’t be too hard on yourself
If you can’t find the food that is 100% on your list – it’s OK. Know that your travel will be over soon and you can go back to your 100% fabulous foods as soon as you get to your destination.
3. Don’t starve yourself
Especially those Activators! 😉 Grab the 2nd or 3rd best option on your list instead of going without. Take heed from tip #2 – don’t be too hard on yourself, knowing you can go back to fabulous foods soon. Making sure you get fuel if you need it will help hold those temper tantrums or vacant minds at bay so you can get on with, and really enjoy, your travel!
4. Know that everything happens for a reason
Maybe your shuttle arrived late and then you missed the big queue at the check-in desk.. Or maybe you were given a different seat so you could meet a fabulous new friend.. Perhaps that flight was late and it meant you missed a meeting… but then the other person didn’t turn up anyway. When you’re on your path and doing what comes naturally to you, the world will take care of you in all sorts of uncanny ways!
5. Don’t take your frustration out on other people
If you are feeling some frustration surface, let it out in a helathy way for you, rather than on other people! 🙂 It will just make you feel bad afterwards anyway.. And them… so take a moment before you air your frustrations and then, if you still want to let it out, do it in a healthy way that effectively calms your mind and body.
6. If you can’t get what you want… compromise
Yes, sometimes it’s important to stand up for what you want, and other times it’s OK to let it go. Is it going to cause more disruption and stress than good? If it is, maybe suggest a compromise instead of playing hardball to get exactly what you think you want.
7. If someone is really, really late for their flight, let them go in front!
Yes, it happens all the time – and there is nothing more calming than being able to move 2 steps up in a line if your plane it going to take off without you.. A whole load of gratitude will come back your way! (And maybe even the same consideration if it’s you who is super late one day!)
The next time you’re headed out for the trip of a lifetime, use these tiny tips to help your travel time feel like a real vacation in itself!
